I'm happy to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good fit, and how I can help you move forward with your goals! I do not accept insurance at this time, but am currently seeing clients for $90 for a 50-minute individual session or $100 for couples sessions.

You're going through transitions in your life and it feels really lonely. Maybe it's a new job, city, new relationship, or the end of a relationship. It could be that you're a new parent or a new empty nester. Perhaps you're grieving the loss of an important person or role in your community that meant a lot to you. You don't have to figure it out alone. Counseling with me is a collaborative process that helps you find a new normal that feels good. This is true of individual counseling and couples counseling. I take a direct, no-nonsense approach to counseling and focus on finding what works for you. We can figure this out together.

My vision is to develop a relationship based on trust, nonjudgmental acceptance, unconditional positive regard, warmth, empathy, genuineness, and clear, open communication with clients. I am passionate about empowering others to succeed and overcome adversity, all while recognizing their true potential. I served eight years in an international military which allowed me to deploy to multiple countries around the world. This allowed me to work for a large veterans service organization when I came back stateside, and I have enjoyed working with the veteran population ever since. I'm also fluent in American Sign Language and Arabic.

Christy Aletky, LCSW-S, LCDC | Founder of Veritas Well-Being, PLLC

Christy is the owner of Veritas Well-Being & Counseling Center and a psychotherapist focused on helping people overcome trauma and prolonged unhappiness in Austin, Texas. She sees both individuals and groups.

Christy focuses on treating Substance Use Disorders, Trauma, and Criminal Justice System Involvement and enjoys working with Veterans and First Responders. She utilizes a variety of therapy methods including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Solution Focused Techniques.

In her own words:

My practice philosophy can be summed up as helping my clients become comfortable with being uncomfortable. To that end, I practice from both a mindfulness and a behavioral perspective. My goal is to help people move toward a rich life that is in alignment with their stated values.

My focus has been mainly on individual and group therapy work since I began as a substance abuse counselor in 2010. Since then, I've worked with probation departments, incarcerated populations, and specialty courts. My areas of interest include the intersectionality of Mental Health, Substance Use Disorders, Trauma, Criminal Justice Involvement, and Veterans Issues (because having a niche is overrated!). As if that wasn't enough, I'm also a Registered Yoga Teacher and a trained iRest Meditation Teacher.

Prior to becoming a counselor, I spent 6 years in the United States Navy. I served as a nuclear-qualified Machinist Mate onboard The U.S.S Theodore Roosevelt. I'm known for my relaxed style and my ability to help people find the words to communicate their experiences. I'm a firm believer that there is an immeasurable utility in the correct dose of sarcasm and irreverence.
